Mother Wildflowers

Support independent play and whole child development, naturally.

Jumpstart your journey towards raising kind, happy, and resilient children while doing less and thriving in motherhood because it shouldn't be this hard.

Are you tired of feeling totally exhausted by modern motherhood?

Learning activities, toddler play dates, Instagram-worthy sensory bins, supporting little ones through relentless “big emotions”, scouring the internet for tips and scripts.

What if it didn’t have to be this hard? What if children were actually happier and developed better with parents who do less? What if mothering could be as simple as allowing boredom, welcoming free play, genuinely delighting in our babes, and bonding in the mundane of day-to-day life?

Thankfully, it really is that simple.

I want to teach you exactly what young children need for optimal whole child development (according to research) - and how to quiet the noise of society, shake off unnecessary mom-guilt, and move forward into your parenting journey with confidence and joy.

Mother Wildflowers will teach you why doing less is scientifically better for your child's development (as well as your sanity), and how to begin implementing do less principles in a do more society.

do less

do less

Do you use screen-time for any of these reasons?

  • safety - to keep busy toddlers in one place

  • learning - no toddler left behind

  • companionship - because mama needs a break

“@jerricasannes is for moms, y’all.”

I get it - screen-time awareness feels like a direct attack on mothers. We’re supposed to:

  • Be available always - even at the expense of our own mental and physical health.

  • Actively work on our children’s learning and development - around the clock.

  • Prevent injuries and tears at all cost.

This is what I call the “do more” message - and I truly believe it poses a serious threat to our society.

I don’t want you to replace screens with yourself. I want you to replace screens with freedom - freedom for them, and for you - because, believe it or not, parenting is significantly easier without screens.E

FREE COURSE

as a new mom, I…

  • was extremely overwhelmed

  • never knew what to prioritize

  • felt like everything I did was wrong

  • was always worried I wasn’t giving my baby “enough”

  • felt like my contributions at home were not of value

  • was isolated

  • struggled with never being alone

  • had a picture perfect view of motherhood that didn’t come true

  • felt guilty about anything that felt easy (because society says the hard way is the right way)

  • felt judged and ashamed for basically everything

  • didn’t know what or who to believe (and fell down Google rabbit holes only to become even more confused)

  • used my phone or TV to escape (which I now recognize only further amplified my mental health issues)

“do less” motherhood

has given me:

  • freedom

to pursue my own goals, dreams, and passions

  • peace

less screen-time + confident parenting = fewer meltdowns and behavioral issues

  • confidence

to shut out societal noise, shake off judgements, and boldly parent against the grain

  • joy

because, without all the unnecessary pressures, mothering is actually enjoyable

  • time

to do things that are important to me, like creating this course!

  • kind, happy, and resilient children

because ultimately, “do less” parenting isn’t for us - it’s for them - and this approach works

I want to help you support independent play and transform your child’s behavior

Not with activity lists and play ideas, not with perfect playroom tips, not with carefully curated parenting scripts, step-by-step discipline techniques, or “miracles” —

but by helping you fix what isn’t working, understand your child’s play and behavior on a deeper level, establish a culture of play and respect in your home, and develop a genuine relationship with your child that goes far beyond any hack.

testimonials

  • “Not to be dramatic but this is the only parenting course you need. Before I took this course I was overwhelmed on the daily, my relationship with my daughter was strained by the end of every day, and I was getting zero housework/personal things done during the week. Now my 20 month old plays independently and I am actually able to get so much housework done during the day and just rest while she naps and enjoy my personal time. Thank you Jerrica!”

  • “Wow! This course has given me so much confidence and helped me find my feet as a stay at home mum. I have enjoyed it so much and will continue to refer back to the links & resources. Thank you so much. 100% recommend this course to any parent!”

  • “I thought I knew a lot of what would be in this course, just from following Jerrica closely and taking her free TV Detox course, so I almost didn't even sign up for Mother Wildflowers. HOWEVER, I am SO GLAD I took this course! I have learned so much about supporting independent play, creating daily rythyms and overall just making my life immensely easier by "doing less". And releasing any guilt that comes with that, as I now realize how important all of this is for my child! I have on 12 month old, and would recommend this course to any mom - even if you just have a very little one!”

  • “The Mother Wildflowers course was such an eye-opening experience! I now feel like I have a better grip on allowing my child to play independently so that I can focus on chores around the house, part-time work, all while taking away the guilt but still finding time to connect with my child when it matters most. I look forward to continuing to implement all that I've learned so I am prepared for another child to join our family. Thank you, Jerrica!”

  • “Putting into practice Jerrica's tips and research through the TV Detox revealed a different (more creative, engaged, sweet) child. This expanded course had such constructive, helpful, thoughtful and informative ways to deepen understanding of our kids at play. The Behavioral Schemas were particularly fascinating and I am looking forward to cultivating a daily rhythm that works actually works for us all. Thank you!”

  • “This course is amazing! It is very comprehensive and each lesson is carefully laid out. I would highly recommend the course for any mom who needs some guidance and reassurance that she is doing a great job. The "do less mama" message is so evident in the course and gave me many tools to help through this difficult and beautiful journey of motherhood.”

  • This was a wonderful course. It was my first time purchasing one and it did not disappoint. Her free material are so helpful, but this course added on in depth. You couldn't put a price on this!!! Totally worth it and already see changes within my child and myself. Thank you jerrica!!!!

  • This course exceeded my already high expectations because of how much I love Jerrica's parenting and teaching style. Every audio lesson had high quality content and the bonus material was really helpful as well. The workbook is both beautiful and functional! Thank you Jerrica for teaching research based information for parents that will truly help families with young children thrive. Your course is amazing.

  • “I am truly thankful for Jerrica and this amazing course she put together. A lot of the things she says, examples she gives and strategies to try when trying to promote independent play and maintain boundaries seem very common sense, but I think modern parenting has become so hard with way too much conflicting information constantly in our social media feeds, and way too much "do more" messages. This course was a breath of fresh air and I had so many "aha" moments throughout. Highly recommend this course!”

  • “I was struggling to figure out why our rhythm was so hard or what was our rhythm? This course has helped immensely in finding out how to reset our days. Im so excited to get to work and make some changes. I feel like I can see my joy in motherhood again. Thank you so much Jerrica for your knowledge and expertise.”

  • “I almost didn't sign up for the course this year because I have a newborn and 15 month old, but I am SO thankful that I did! It's helped me understand my toddler more during this transitional period and realize the importance of rhythms and connection as we adjust to having a new family member. She and I both are doing a lot better now that I am explaining to her what's going on, acknowledging how she's feeling and letting her know what's coming. Thank you so much for doing this! It has already taught me so much and I know I'll use these resources for years to come as my little ones grow up!”

  • “With Mother Wildflowers course helped me understand what my toddler needs to be kind, happy and resilient. It helped me learn that I do not need to be overwhelmed and exhausted all the time by constantly entertaining him because of guilt or that it is the only way of connecting with my child even when I did not want to play with him or needed a break. Mother Wildflowers course opened my eyes. I can now complete the tasks I need to without feeling guilty and that is the best feeling ever! I did not believe motherhood could be easy. This course made enjoying motherhood possible!! I highly recommend this course to those struggling.“

“I honestly can't even begin to describe how I felt after this course. I read a review that said this is the only course you need as a parent and I whole heartedly agree!!! This should be taught at antenatal classes, at parent and baby classes, toddler groups...every where! [My health visitor] could not believe the change in my boy twin toddler compared to 3 months ago… When I started struggling with my first I wondered why it was so hard and had this joke (but was also serious about it too) for the past 6 years saying that I was waiting for someone to give me the information I wasn't told at the beginning which would make this easier. Finally now with a 6 year old and 2 year old twins I found what I was missing. THIS COURSE, THIS INFORMATION. Some of the stuff Jerrica said should be etched in stone.”

  • Nope! The concepts of this course are relevant to working moms as well.

  • The goal of this course is to help you release control and appreciate your child’s innate drive to play, explore, and discover. Beyond providing a safe and enriching environment, I firmly believe that a child’s play does not require an adult’s effort. Play is their work - not ours.

  • This course will help you gain a better understanding of play and development. I’ll teach you why children don’t actually need new toys for each stage of development, despite clever marketing campaigns.

  • In this course, you’ll learn the benefits of ditching the parenting trends and simply taking an authoritative approach to parenting.

  • At Raise Wildflowers, we believe in using positive discipline and fostering emotional intelligence. We never condone spanking, shaming, time-outs, or other forms of punishments; however, we do believe in calmly and confidently setting and enforcing limits and boundaries as a strong, loving caregiver.

Learn how to nurture secure attachment and connect with your child on a deep, genuine level while also shaking off some unnecessary guilt and protecting your own mental health.
